General Informations

The Dean is the head of the Faculty of Agricultural Engineering and Technology and also the head of the College. The Faculty consists of Professors, Associate Professors and Assistant Professors working in the five Departments of the College and in Schemes and Projects within college.

The faculty has the following five major departments and is functioning in the Kelappaji College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology.

1. Department of Irrigation and Drainage Engineering (IDE)
2. Department of Soil and Water Conservation Engineering (SWCE)
3. Department of Farm Machinery and Power Engineering (FMPE)
4. Department of Processing and Food Engineering (PFE)
5. Department of Basic Engineering and Applied Science (BEAS)

There are twenty eight scientists working at Kelappaji College of Agricultural Engineering Technology, Tavanur.Three scientists are on leave for Ph.D and one scientist member is on long leave.

Out of the total effective strength of Scientists, five scientists are attached with externally aided projects.There are three Professors, fifteen Associate Professors and Assistant Professors in this College.

The faculty is also engaged in research and extension activities and many external aided projects are being operated in the college along with teaching. Department wise sanctioned posts and the staff position in the college are given below.

Faculty Development

During the last five years, the faculty members have availed opportunity for attending twenty two refresher courses and twenty two seminars. The faculty has attended twenty one international symposiums including trainings and foreign visits. They have published 66 papers in research journals and 23 papers in extension publications. Many of these papers are presented in National or international symposia. The faculty also organizes a number of training programmes, symposia, seminars etc as a part of their research scheme work.
