Department of Farm Machinery & Power Engineering (FMPE)

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

Farm Machinery & Power Engineering is one of the major areas of Agricultural Engineering discipline.The department offers 16 core courses and 8 elective courses for B.Tech (Agrl. Engg.) with a total credits of 35 and 24 respectively, 7 core courses for M.Tech with total credit of 20 and 6 core courses for Ph. D. with a total credit of 15. Relevant mechanical and electrical engineering subjects are included among 16 core courses. At present 14 M. Tech. and 7 Ph. D. students are undergoing degree programmes. The department has six research projects funded by State and Central Government. The department is also engaged in different extension activities.

OBJECTIVES

• To provide education to the students to build solid foundation of farm power & machinery principles to expand their reasoning, communication and problems solving skills and enable them to contribute and work for the upliftment of farming community. 
• To conduct research in a best class manner that the outcome of the research projects would benefit the farmers and the agricultural machinery manufacturing groups.
• To become a bridge between the technology and the farming community.
